Why A Track Gets Held Back

Fall Short, Get Filtered.

No valid genre or subgenre —the track may miss relevant discovery and recommendation surfaces.

Default or missing cover image —the track may be deprioritised and a genuine custom cover is required for mobile streaming payout eligibility.

Incomplete artist profile —reduces the quality of the artist presence and may affect access to selected platform surfaces.

Poor, misleading or wrong metadata —misclassified tracks can be filtered from relevant discovery.

Not approved, public or active —tracks that are unavailable or hidden by moderation do not reach normal listeners.

Free account limits

BTR may apply limits to free accounts. If you exceed the free upload limit, older tracks above the limit may be hidden from listeners—not deleted. Plays, likes, comments and stats are preserved, and upgrading to Artist Pro may restore hidden tracks. Artist Pro subscribers may also receive more visibility across selected surfaces, though visibility is never guaranteed and still depends on quality, metadata, activity and platform rules.

Streaming Payouts

How Mobile Streaming Pays.

Mobile streaming payouts come from a discretionary payout pool . There is no fixed, guaranteed per-stream rate. What an artist may receive depends on the distributable pool for the period, approved eligible streams, the artist's share of eligible activity, and BTR's integrity and payment rules.

Under the current mobile eligibility model, an artist must have an active account and a genuine custom profile image. An eligible track must be approved, not hidden by moderation, at least 60 seconds long and have a genuine custom cover. An eligible stream must come from a closed, signed-in listening session, must not be the artist streaming their own track, must meet the required listening threshold and must not be held for fraud or integrity review. Not every play is payable.

Payout terms, payout-provider setup, verification and withdrawal requirements govern whether and when eligible money can be transferred to an artist. They are separate from the underlying mobile listening event itself.

BTR does not guarantee that any artist will earn money. BTR does not guarantee streams, followers, sales, chart placement, app placement, payouts or fixed rates.

Streaming payouts and other monetisation features are subject to BTR's terms, eligibility rules, fraud checks, app availability, payment-provider rules, payout-provider rules and applicable law. Payout availability depends on country, currency, account status, provider approval, verification, compliance checks and BTR's Payment Terms.
