Not every uploaded track will automatically appear to fans in the app. BTR applies higher standards across profiles, tracks, artwork, and metadata — so discovery stays clean and serious artists stand out. Treat your profile like a real storefront, not an upload page. Fix these now, before the doors open.
No valid genre or subgenre — the track may not appear to fans in the app at all.
Default or missing cover image — deprioritised, and may be ineligible for mobile monetisation.
Incomplete artist profile — reduced visibility, or excluded from certain app surfaces.
Poor, misleading, or wrong metadata — misclassified tracks get filtered out of discovery.
Not approved, public, or active — only clean, live tracks reach listeners.
BTR may apply limits to free accounts. If you exceed the free upload limit, older tracks above the limit may be hidden from listeners — not deleted. Plays, likes, comments, and stats are preserved, and upgrading to Artist Pro may restore hidden tracks. Artist Pro subscribers may also receive more visibility across selected surfaces — though visibility is never guaranteed and still depends on quality, metadata, activity, and platform rules.
Mobile streaming payouts come from a discretionary payout pool. There is no fixed, guaranteed per-stream rate. What an artist may receive depends on the pool for the period, the number of approved eligible streams, the artist's share of eligible activity, and BTR's integrity and payment rules.
To be considered, a stream generally needs a signed-in listener inside the BTR Mobile App, on an approved, public, active, eligible track, from a complete and eligible artist profile that has accepted the current payout terms — and it must pass active-listening, fraud, and integrity checks. Not every play is payable.
BTR does not guarantee that any artist will earn money. BTR does not guarantee streams, followers, sales, chart placement, app placement, payouts, or fixed rates.
Streaming payouts and other monetisation features are subject to BTR's terms, eligibility rules, fraud checks, app availability, payment-provider rules, and applicable law. PayPal is expected as the first payout method, with more added later where supported. The app launch is subject to Apple App Store and Google Play approval.
