About This Event
The Beat Genius presents "Words & Music," an innovative free showcase that combines Live Music, Spoken Word, and Rap performances into one cohesive evening of artistic expression at the London College of Contemporary Music (LCCM). This event will take place on April 24th at The Music Box, located at 241 Union Street, London, SE1 0LR.
Starting at 7:30 PM (doors open at 7 PM), the evening will feature a natural progression from melodic live performances to thought-provoking spoken word, culminating in a dynamic session of rap sets that blend both worlds. Event director Kerrie, a seasoned music promoter, emphasizes the goal of creating a space where different forms of expression can complement each other, taking the audience on a cultural journey.
The showcase highlights rising talent from London's vibrant artistic community, including:
- Jazz vocals from Silvia Leonzio
- Neo Soul grooves from LCCM band Ranhura
- Smooth vocalist Sophia accompanied by pianist Oliver Poole
- Cutting-edge rap from Tiny Godfather, D-Rilla, D33Wain, Lucas Lee, and Pea the GOAT
- Special guest appearance by Layyah, winner of BBC’s The Rap Game UK Series 6
- Finale headline performance by the acclaimed rapper Mobi1
Each performer brings a unique perspective to this celebration of sound and language. "Words & Music" is free to attend, but early arrival is recommended as capacity is limited to 150 people. The event will conclude at 10 PM.
