About This Event
Tribute to Benny Goodman – The King of Swing takes place on Friday, September 25, 2026, at Jazz Club Leuven Live Concert @ Campus Corso, Diestsestraat 253, 3000 Leuven. The concert pays tribute to Benny Goodman and swing music from the 1920s, 1930s and 1940s.
The programme includes Benny Goodman standards such as Sing, Sing, Sing, Let’s Dance, Stompin’ at the Savoy, Moonglow and Seven Come Eleven. Swingmasters will perform with Peter Verhas on clarinet, Stefan Willems on bass and as leader, Stijn Wauters on piano, Jan de Haas on drums, and special guest René Harvengt on vibraphone.
- Doors open at 7:00 PM.
- From 7:15 PM, young jazz students and their teacher will present a pre-concert programme.
- At 7:50 PM, professor emeritus Fernand Tanghe will give a short music-history introduction.
- The Tribute to Benny Goodman concert begins at 8:15 PM.
