Third World has been performing for 47 years and is known as one of Jamaica’s longest-running reggae bands. The group has released 22 studio albums, received 9 Grammy nominations, and earned chart success in the US, UK, Europe, and Japan. Its music blends reggae with elements of R&B, funk, pop, rock, dancehall, and rap.
The band has toured and recorded with Bob Marley, Stevie Wonder, and Santana, and opened for the Jackson 5’s first concert in Jamaica. In 1986, Third World received the United Nations Peace Medal for its music and lyrical prose. Its 22nd studio album, More Work To Be Done, was produced by Damian “Jr Gong” Marley and was nominated for Best Reggae Album at the 2020 Grammy Awards.
