The London-based collective The Scorpios blends Sudanese funk, soul, traditional Arabic rhythms, and psychedelic afrobeat. Their sound uses heavy basslines, synthesizers, horns, and percussion, drawing on influences from Detroit’s musical heritage and Khartoum’s traditions.
The band describes its music as raw, euphoric, spiritual, life-affirming, and funky. They also have a new vinyl single, Azabna, out on Afro 7 Records.
