The Movement has been active since 2003 and is known for alt-reggae and reggae built around insightful lyrics and heavy drum and bass. The group’s lineup includes Joshua Swain, Jason Schmidt, Gary Jackson, Matt Goodwin, and Kyle Jerome. Their seventh studio album, Ways Of The World (2019), debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Reggae Chart and stayed in the Top 10 for more than 40 consecutive weeks. Their ninth studio album, VISIONS, was released on July 18, 2025 through the band’s R4RE Records imprint.
Pepper describes its sound as “Kona Dub-Rock,” blending reggae, alternative rock, dub, island rhythms, and punk rock energy. The trio formed on the Big Island of Hawaii in the late 1990s and reached No. 1 on the Billboard Reggae Albums chart with Local Motion in 2019. Pepper also co-founded LAW Records and has released music by more than 20 other artists. Surfer Girl is listed as the special guest for the performance.
