About This Event
The Listening Club is a monthly listening night at 12 Bar Music & Social in Exeter, taking place on Thursday, 14 May 2026, with doors and start time at 7:30pm. The evening is dedicated to active listening, with one mystery album played in full from start to finish on vinyl.
The album is announced on the night, and the format is designed for uninterrupted listening with no background noise or distractions. Seating is unreserved, and the session is intended to be calm, respectful, welcoming, and low-pressure. You can come on your own or with others.
After the listening session, there is optional space for gentle conversation, reflection, and discussion. The album played also becomes the Record of the Month and is available in-store after the session. The event is presented in partnership with Alright Mate?, a Devon-based arts organisation.
