THE BOWIE'S SOHO WALKING TOUR traces David Bowie’s early years in Soho, where he spent time from the late 1950s until he moved to New York in 1974. The walk visits sites linked to Bowie’s development in the 1960s and 1970s, including locations connected with album covers and recording studios.
The tour covers Bowie’s early R&B bands, including The King Bees, The Manish Boys, Davy Jones and The Lower Third, The Buzz, and The Riot Squad, as well as his 1967 solo album, his meeting with Lindsay Kemp in Soho, his mime phase, the folk trio Feathers, and the band Hype with Tony Visconti and Mick Ronson. It also includes the period of his first hit, “Space Oddity,” and The Spiders From Mars, along with recording at Trident Studios in Soho.
