Ainsley Hamill is a singer-songwriter from the West Coast of Scotland known for her voice, storytelling, and emotive style. Her work blends traditional Scottish folk with a modern touch, and her repertoire includes Gaelic, Scots, and original compositions. She released her third studio album, Fable, in early 2025, produced by Sam Kelly and recorded in Glasgow.
Fable draws on Scottish folklore and myth, with songs inspired by the legends and landscapes of Scotland. Her previous album, Not Just Ship Land (2021), was named The Guardian’s Album of the Month. Hamill has also performed with the folk band Barluath and with Fourth Moon, alongside her solo work.
