TC & The Groove Family are a 10-piece collective led by drummer Tim Cook (TC) and fronted by Sheffield wordsmith Franz Von. Their music draws on afrobeat, broken beat, jungle, jazz and grime, and the band’s live shows are described as dynamic, with horns, percussion, guitars and bass playing a central role.
The group has supported Vieux Farka Touré, Seun Kuti & Egypt 80, K.O.G, Nubiyan Twist and Yussef Dayes. Reviews quoted for the band mention performances at WOMAD and describe their shows as powerful, with extended solos from the horn section. Refunds are not available.
