About This Event
TapRoots / The Evocatives takes place at Nova Arts Block/Brewbakers Cafe in Keene, NH, on Friday, May 22, 2026, at 7:00 PM. The venue is located at 48 Emerald Street, Keene, NH 03431.
TapRoots is described as a project built from interlocking musical influences, with a sound that draws on funk, soul, salsa, afrobeat, reggae, afrocuban jazz, rock, samba, and the folkloric rhythms of Ifa/Lukumi. The performance includes catchy hooks, pulsing rhythms, intricate musical motifs, blazing horn lines, danceable grooves, and thought-provoking lyrics.
The Evocatives feature Ezra Landis on guitar, Owen Landis on beats, Walker Landis on bass, and Jenn Bakalar on vocals. The group has played local venues and festivals for years, and their original performances are described as having a kaleidoscopic delivery of tone and themes. Doors open at 7:00 PM, music begins at 7:30 PM, and seating is first come, first served.
