The Summer Picnic Concert takes place at Fairlight Hall on Martineau Lane, Fairlight, TN35 5DR, on Sunday 5 July 2026 at 2:30 PM. The afternoon programme features pianist Roman Fediurko, the runner-up from this year’s Hastings International Piano Competition, returning after winning the Takamatsu Prize in Japan.
Fediurko’s recital includes Alexander Scriabin’s Sonata No. 2 in G sharp minor, Op. 19 and Frédéric Chopin’s Sonata No. 3 in B minor, Op. 58. The performance also includes a 45-minute interval.
The programme also presents three Young Scholars from the Lang Lang International Music Foundation: Deva Mira Sperandio, Julian Zhu, and Aidan Siqi Zhao. Their repertoire includes Sergei Prokofiev’s Sonata No. 4 in C minor, Op. 29, Frédéric Chopin’s Ballade No. 1 in G minor, Op. 23, Stephen Hough’s Fanfare Toccata in D major, and Franz Liszt’s Reminiscences de Norma, S. 394.
Audience seating is mostly in the courtyard outdoors, with some canopies for sun or rain protection. Picnic in the gardens is permitted before the concert, and a buffet lunch may be booked separately for £55 per head, including two courses, wine, and coffee or tea.
