About This Event
Get ready for an unforgettable night of music at Sublime, the legendary Long Beach, CA, reggae-punk/alternative rock band that has captured the hearts of fans worldwide. Join us at the Westville Music Bowl on Saturday, August 23, starting at 6:30pm EDT (doors open at 5pm) for an electrifying performance that celebrates the band’s enduring legacy and vibrant spirit.
Founded in 1988 by Eric Wilson, Bud Gaugh, and Bradley Nowell, Sublime’s influential sound blends reggae, punk, and alternative rock. Their debut album, 40oz. to Freedom, released in 1992 via Skunk Records, quickly gained a loyal following and heavy radio play, setting the stage for their meteoric rise. Their subsequent albums, including Robbin’ the Hood and the self-titled Sublime, featured chart-topping hits like What I Got, Santeria, and Wrong Way, with over 18 million albums sold in the US alone. Despite the tragic loss of Bradley Nowell in 1996, the band’s music continues to inspire generations, and their influence remains stronger than ever.
In late 2023, a new chapter began when Jakob Nowell, Bradley’s son, joined original members Bud Gaugh and Eric Wilson on stage for the first time at a benefit concert for H.R. of Bad Brains. The overwhelming response and undeniable chemistry led to the band’s decision to carry on the Sublime legacy, with Jakob now serving as frontman. Experience the magic and see history in the making live at this special event.
Tickets range from $39.50 to $125 and are available on AXS. Don’t miss your chance to be part of this iconic night—an event that promises high energy, timeless hits, and a celebration of a band whose music has left an indelible mark on culture and sound.
