About This Event
Spanish Strings Solstice takes place at The Rippon Hall in Wānaka on Friday, 19 June 2026 at 4:00 PM. Presented by Otago Classical Guitar, the concert is an intimate afternoon performance featuring classical guitar music.
The program begins with music from Spain, where the classical guitar began, and includes lyrical pieces, intricate and subtle works, and music that moves from classicism to romanticism. It also draws on the rhythms of Andalusia and reflective poetry in music.
Braden Southee performs as the soloist. He was featured as a classical soloist at the 2025 Dunedin Arts Festival and has been described in reviews for his agile fretwork, quietly confident stage presence, and strong command of the classical guitar.
The Rippon Hall is located at 246 Wanaka Mount Aspiring Road, Wānaka, Otago Region 9382. Tickets are priced from $49 to $69 NZD.
