Soul Ska has been performing since 2014 as an 8-piece band made up of veteran members of Northern California groups including Vinyl, Stymie & the Pimp Jones Love Orchestra, The Right Time, Albino!, El Radio Fantastique, and Jethro Jeremiah Band. Their sound draws from both the Jamaican first wave and the UK second wave, with an emphasis on vocal harmonies and a full horn section.
The band has supported acts including Yellowman, Don Carlos, Capleton, Zulu Spear, Israel Vibrations, Fishbone, Third World, and The Slackers. They have also collaborated with The English Beat, Ernest Ranglin, and Angelo Moore. Their debut album, Propaganda, was released in 2018.
