About This Event
Third Street Community Celebration Salsa Party and Dance Lesson takes place Friday, October 9, 2026, at Anna-Maria Kellen Concert Hall at Third Street Music School, 235 East 11th Street, New York, NY 10003. The free program begins with an introductory salsa lesson at 4:30 PM, followed by a 5:30 PM concert by Conjunto Sotito.
Estelle Walkin will lead the one-hour salsa class. No previous dance experience is required. The lesson covers fundamental salsa steps and rhythms and is open to all ages. Children must be accompanied by an adult.
Conjunto Sotito performs salsa, cha cha, and pachangas, with music inspired by classic New York City charanga orchestras. Estelle Walkin is a Dominican dancer whose training includes hip-hop, breakdance, jazz, ballet, contemporary, samba, salsa, and bachata. She has been a teaching artist with the Third Street Partners program for the past three years.
- Admission: Free; RSVPs are required for every attendee, including children.
- Seating: RSVPs are first-come, first-served and do not guarantee a seat. Free events are oversold to accommodate drops, and remaining seats may be released before the show starts as space permits.
- Accessibility: The venue is wheelchair accessible.
- Venue policies: No food or drinks are permitted in the performance space. Large items, including strollers and carts, are not permitted in the hall. Service animals are allowed; pets are not.
