Rob Heron & The Tea Pad Orchestra perform upstairs at Billy's with a sound that blends swing, honkytonk, rockabilly, blues, country, soul, and related influences. Based in Newcastle and made up of musicians from across the UK, the band has released five albums and toured widely across the British Isles and Europe.
The group is known for energetic live shows and dry humour. Their wider history includes performances at Glastonbury and Cambridge Folk Festival, touring with Pokey LaFarge, The Dead South, and Sierra Ferrell, and releases on Sleazy Records in Spain and Migraine Records in Germany. Their upcoming sixth album, Feet First, was recorded in two days at Lightning Recorders in Berlin with Ben Powling on saxophone.
