About This Event
Quartetto Alla Maniera Italiana appears at MaMu - Magazzino Musica in Milano on 26 June 2026 at 8:30 PM. Admission is free upon reservation, subject to availability.
The quartet was founded to explore chamber music from the 18th and 19th centuries, with particular attention to Haydn, Mozart, and Beethoven, using a historically informed approach. Its work also includes Romantic repertoire and contemporary compositions written for classical instruments. The ensemble performs with copies of original instruments and period-appropriate bows, and, when possible, uses autograph scores or first editions.
The programme includes works by Mozart, Schubert, and Beethoven:
- Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart – String Quartet No. 6 in B-flat major, K. 159
- Franz Schubert – String Quartet No. 10 in E-flat major, D. 87
- Ludwig van Beethoven – String Quartet in G major, Anh. 2 No. 2
The ensemble is part of Le Dimore del Quartetto. In June 2025, it was named “Ensemble of the Year” by the Fondo Morosini per la Cultura e la Musica.
