About This Event
Project Papaya at Avalon Cafe takes place on Saturday 9 May at Avalon Cafe, Juno Way, London, SE14 5RZ. The event starts at 7:00 PM and runs until 2:00 AM.
Project Papaya’s first party includes sound, visual art and vegan food. The music line-up features EDNA, BUBZ, PACHEO and TEA. EDNA plays a mix of vinyl drawn from hip-hop, jazz, Latin, dub and electronic sounds, and currently has a residency at The Well in Brighton. BUBZ blends dub, reggae, global bass and Afro-Latin rhythms, while PACHEO brings Salsa, Cumbia, Boogaloo, Latin Funk and Soul. TEA plays across reggae, Cumbia, soul and down-tempo.
Alongside the music, the event includes artists Buhloonehead and Vittor Camila. Buhloonehead is a London-born street artist, illustrator and painter whose work is inspired by the occult and psychedelia. Vittor Camila is a British-Peruvian multi-disciplinary artist and educator working in South London.
The food is curated by BUBZ and EDNA. BUBZ serves plant-based food through More Life More Love, and EDNA’s cooking draws on flavours of India, the Caribbean and Middle Eastern cooking.
