About This Event
PHUNK! Music of Defiance & Celebration with DJ Deesh + Kadence Music takes place at BRIG Café at The Warehouse in Birmingham on Friday, 28 August 2026, from 7:00 pm until late. Entry is free.
The evening features DJ Deesh and Kadence Music, with music played across a wide range of styles including Hip Hop, Soul, Funk, Disco, Reggae, Ska, Latin, Bhangra, Bollywood and Desi Beatz. The event also includes visuals and special guest performances.
PHUNK! is presented as a political night of P-Funk challenging racism through art and culture. It is described as featuring live music, vinyl and CDs, along with desi snacks and a bar. The event is brought to you by Unite The People, Birmingham Race Impact Group (BRIG), Beyond Racism and Stories That Made Us.
