Pete Wikle takes place on Friday, August 7, 2026 at 7:00 PM at The Sanctuary Studio for the Arts & Humanities in Santa Ana, California. The venue is located at 225 North Broadway, #Suite 201, Santa Ana, CA 92701.
This intimate evening features live jazz with a mix of original music and arrangements from the Great American Songbook. The ensemble is led by Santa Ana native Peter Wikle, a trombonist, tubist, composer, arranger, and educator originally from Santa Ana.
Wikle spent a decade in New York City, where he studied with Dave Taylor, Jim McNeely, Barry Harris, Lee Konitz, Justin DiCioccio, and Dave Liebman. His performance credits include the Bobby Sanabria Multiverse Big Band, the Metropolis Ensemble, the Mingus Big Band, Jordan Rudess, the Kyle Athayde Dance Party, and Elijah Shiffer.
He has also appeared at the Monterey Jazz Festival, North Sea Jazz Festival, Montreal Jazz Festival, Bimhuis, the Brooklyn Botanical Garden, and the Deer Head Inn’s Celebration of the Other Arts. His studio work includes sessions at Capitol Studios, Van Gelder Studios, and Power Station at BerkleeNYC. In 2024, Wikle returned to Santa Ana, where he continues to perform, compose, and teach.
