The event features Omar, whose career began more than 20 years ago with his debut single on indie label Kongo Dance. He later released For Pleasure, worked with Motown producers Leon Ware and Lamont Dozier, and in 2000 issued his fifth LP, Best By Far, on Naïve Records. That album was self-produced and brought together his interest in cinematic soundtracks and jazz, with contributions from Erykah Badu and MOBO winner Kele Le Roc.
Omar has sold millions of records and was appointed MBE in the Queen’s 2012 Birthday Honours List.
