Omar has built a long career that began more than 20 years ago, following the release of his debut single for Kongo Dance, which made him a name on London’s underground scene. His work on For Pleasure, including collaborations with Leon Ware and Lamont Dozier, brought critical acclaim, and his fifth LP, Best By Far, was released in 2000 on Naïve Records.
He has also worked with Erykah Badu and Kele Le Roc, and was appointed an MBE in the Queen’s 2012 Birthday Honours List. The concert features Omar with a full live band and includes classic songs such as “There’s Nothing Like This” alongside newer material from his critically acclaimed album.
