Miri Izenberg & Emmet Althoen takes place at The Sanctuary Studio for the Arts & Humanities in Santa Ana on Friday, June 19, 2026 at 7:00 PM. The event features young artists in residence Miri Izenberg and Emmet Althoen in an evening of jazz.
Miri Izenberg is a vocalist and trumpet player, and a senior at the Orange County School of the Arts. She performs in both jazz and classical ensembles and has received soloist awards from DownBeat Magazine and the Essentially Ellington Festival at Jazz at Lincoln Center. Her studies include trumpet with Willie Murillo and John Reynolds, and voice with Lia Booth. Her influences include Carmen McRae, Ella Fitzgerald, Jazzmeia Horn, and Cécile McLorin Salvant.
Emmet Althoen is 15 and a pianist in OCSA’s Ambassador Jazz Orchestra under the direction of John Reynolds. He has studied with pianist Jeremy Siskind and is described as bringing technical command and expressive improvisation to his playing.
