About This Event
Masterpieces of Russian and French music of the 19th century takes place at St Catherine's Church on Kings Road in Pontcanna, Wales, on Saturday, 25 April 2026 at 7:30 PM. The concert is presented by Camenae de Cymru, Cardiff, South Wales.
The programme features works for violin and piano, along with romances, arias, and duets by Tchaikovsky, Rimsky-Korsakov, Rubinstein, Rachmaninoff, Bizet, and Saint-Saëns. Confirmed pieces include Tchaikovsky’s Melodie, Reconciliation, and Valse-Scherzo; selections from The Queen of Spades and The Snow Maiden; Rachmaninoff’s I fell in love, to my sorrow; and Bizet’s Fortune-telling and Chanson Bohème from Carmen.
The concert also includes music by Massenet, Martini, and Octave Crémieux, plus Saint-Saëns’ The Introduction and Rondo Capriccioso. Intermission is scheduled for 10 minutes. Refreshments will be served before the concert and during the intermission, and a concert programme is included in the ticket price. A limited number of tickets will be available at the door from 7:00 PM to 7:30 PM if any remain.
