About This Event
MAHICO OPEN AIR FESTIVAL returns to Lismore Turf Club on Saturday, 14 November 2026, from 2:00 pm. The second edition of the boutique day festival takes place at 9A Woodlawn Road, North Lismore, with Latin American culture, world music, folktronica and electronic sounds on the program.
Rodrigo Gallardo performs live as the featured artist. The Chilean composer and multi-instrumentalist is a former co-founder of electronic folk project Matanza. His live set incorporates charango, Andean flutes, guitars and vocals alongside electronic rhythms. Gallardo has previously performed at Fusion in Germany, Cercle in France, Envision in Costa Rica, Dreamersland in Poland and Amanita in Argentina.
- Lineup: Rodrigo Gallardo LIVE (CHL), Moontide, Lu Faria (BRA), José López (COL), Batala, Pumah (URY) and XUJA.
- Additional music: Moontide is the solo project of Byron Bay multi-instrumentalist Louis Tobin. Lu Faria plays all-vinyl selections, while José López’s set includes Caribbean and African rhythms, funk, disco and house. Batala is a 17-piece Brazilian drumming ensemble.
- On site: Curated markets, Latin American street food, the Mahico Bar, Margarita Bar, a kids zone and open-air dancing.
- Community contribution: 10% of Mahico Open Air’s net profits will be donated to Vida Nueva, a community organisation in Mexico supporting children and families through education, wellbeing and community initiatives.
The event acknowledges the Widjabul Wia-bal people of the Bundjalung Nation as the Traditional Custodians of the land.
