Live at Good Measure — Gov’t Majik takes place at Good Measure in New Orleans on Friday, August 21, 2026 at 9:00 PM. The venue is located at 600 Carondelet Street, #Suite #1, New Orleans, LA 70130.
Gov’t Majik is a New Orleans collective led by bassist and co-founder Bru Bruser and fronted by vocalist Ten Spencer. The group describes its sound as “The Dirty South Afro-Beat Arkestra,” blending the music of Fela Kuti and other Afrobeat and Afrofunk pioneers with funk, jazz, rap, and rock and roll from New Orleans.
Founded in 2005, Gov’t Majik made its Jazz Fest debut in 2007 and returned to the festival stage in 2026. The band’s 2023 EP, The Bass Age, features Parliament-Funkadelic saxophonist Greg Thomas. Entry is free, no check-in is required, and the show includes standing room with some seating available on a first come, first served basis. A full bar is on-site, and doors open at 9:00 PM.
