Lila Iké is a Jamaican reggae artist born Alecia Tameka Grey in Christiana, Jamaica. Raised in a conservative, religious household, she drew early inspiration from gospel, roots reggae, soul, and ’90s dancehall. She later moved to Kingston, where her path led to Protoje and the In.Digg.Nation Collective after open mic nights at Jamnesia.
Her breakout songs include “Biggest Fan,” “Second Chance,” and “Where I’m Coming From.” Her 2020 debut EP The ExPerience received attention from Rolling Stone, Vogue, NPR, The New York Times, and other outlets. She has also appeared on NPR’s Tiny Desk and The Late Show with Stephen Colbert alongside Protoje.
Known for blending reggae with soul, R&B, hip-hop, and dancehall, Lila Iké has collaborated with artists including H.E.R., Davido, Jorja Smith, WSTRN, Skillibeng, and Ini Kamoze. She has won back-to-back Best Female Reggae Artist awards at the Caribbean Music Awards.
