L’Eclair is the project of brothers Stef and Yavor Lilov, who began making music together after growing up in Bulgaria and later formed the band in Switzerland. Their work draws on rhythm, dynamics, and an electro-acoustic approach, with references that have included Can and Tortoise, along with more spacious and genre-crossing material from earlier releases.
The group’s fourth album, Cloud Drifter, is their debut for Innovative Leisure and includes trap-inspired beats on “Nova Umbra,” along with the first vocals in the band’s recorded work. The album also features guest contributions from Pink Siifu, Gelli Haha, Phoebe Coco, Girl Named GOLDEN, A Ghost Column, Forest Law, and new member Inès Mouzoune.
