About This Event
JOY OF MUSIC AFRICA (JOMA) 2026 is a three-hour live music event at Freedom Park Lagos on Friday, 25 September 2026 at 6:00 PM. It features an Afrocentric 35-man crew with singers, dancers, and dramatists performing cosmopolitan, afrocentric sounds with both pure and fused African influences.
The program includes evergreen hits and original works from talents at Tenstrings Music Institute, Nigeria's largest school of music. The music moves from sounds dating back to the 1970s to more recent global afrocentric and afrofusion styles.
Freedom Park Lagos is located at 1 Broad Street, Lagos Island, Lagos. The venue is described as a former colonial prison facility turned arts and culture centre, with art galleries, gardens, fountains, fish ponds, restaurants, bars, lounges, live venues, theatre facilities, and cultural and historic relics. The event is free, though Freedom Park will accept a N3000 gate fee per participant.
