Janet Kay (MBE) and Caroll Thompson are recognised as pioneering voices of British Lovers Rock, the romantic, soul-infused reggae movement that emerged in the late 1970s and 1980s. Janet Kay made history in 1979 with Silly Games, which reached number two on the UK Singles Chart and made her the first British-born Black female artist to perform a reggae song on Top of the Pops.
Caroll Thompson released her self-penned debut album Hopelessly in Love in 1980. The album sold a million copies and was later named by Mojo Magazine as the greatest Lovers Rock album of all time. It included enduring classics such as I'm So Sorry.
Both artists have sold more than a million records globally and often perform together as a touring duo.
