Jah Works formed in 1993 in Baltimore’s reggae scene and has spent more than 20 years performing reggae music rooted in Jamaican traditions. Their sound includes rock steady, reggae, dancehall, and dub, and the band has played hundreds of shows each year around the world. The group has also recorded and released 10 albums, beginning with Feast or Famine in 1994.
Jah Works was named after the song “Jah Works” by The Gladiators, and the group says that music inspired them to begin writing their own original reggae songs. Their releases have sold more than 100,000 copies independently, including the latest album, River of Life.
