Immortal Technique is a Peruvian-born, Harlem-raised rapper known for complex lyricism and politically charged lyrics. He first gained recognition through battle rap and underground hip hop, and his debut album, Revolutionary Vol. 1, became one of the most pirated independent projects to date.
His work has also extended beyond music. He has mentored youth in prison, helped fund an orphanage in Afghanistan through his third album, The 3rd World, assisted with rebuilding efforts in Haiti after the 2010 earthquake, and distributed water and supplies at the border in Mexico. He is currently working on his fifth studio album, The Middle Passage.
