Got Soul Carnival Special - BH Sunday 30th Aug takes place at Pop Brixton, 49 Brixton Station Rd, London, SW9 8PQ, on Sunday 30 August 2026 from 4:00 pm. Photo ID is required for entry.
Got Soul Events returns to Brixton for this Bank Holiday Sunday edition, which is described as the biggest party of the year. The event follows the format used for the first Got Soul Special, when the tables and chairs were removed to create more of a dance party than a Neo Soul lounge.
Hey Essay & friends will play a mix of Neo Soul, Afro Beats, Soca, Garage, Amapiano, R&B, HipHop, Reggae/Dancehall and Afro House. The event is free and is presented as suitable for an early pre-party drink, a post-carnival afterparty, or an alternative to Bank Holiday festivities.
The playlist references artists including Erykah Badu, Kendrick Lamar, Fela Kuti, Kaytranada, Anderson .Paak, Talib Kweli, Usher, Luther Vandross, Koffee, A Tribe Called Quest, Ari Lennox, Common, Chronixx, Thundercat, Roy Ayers, Children of Zeus, Jill Scott, J Cole, Chaka Khan and Protoje.
