About This Event
Global Gig Night takes place at The Printworks on Pym Street, Tavistock, PL19 0AW, on Saturday 19 September 2026, with doors opening at 7pm. The event is free to attend, and donations toward next year’s festival are welcomed through a Crowdfunder link.
The evening begins with What?, a group of young musicians formed through Tavistock Youth Cafe’s Zephyr Music Project. The band plays rock covers and originals, drawing on music from several decades. They are followed by Anairda, a Latin American singer-songwriter and activist based in Plymouth. Anairda performs with Raphaelle Ahmad on cajon and Charlie Carr on bass, and her set blends world folk-rock with Latin influences.
The night ends with a Global Rhythms DJ set featuring DJ Bop Mali and DJ Mikey Good. The set is described as two hours of global rhythm, with roots reggae, Afro funk, Afro Cuban, South African house, Bhangra, and samba played from both vinyl and digital tracks. The Printworks bar will be running during the event.
Global Gig Night is presented by Respect Fest.
