Gil Scott-Heron Bluesology takes place at The Hudson Theatres in Los Angeles on Friday, June 19, 2026 at 7:00 PM. The production explores Gil Scott-Heron’s artistic work, including his fusion of jazz, blues, and spoken word, and shares music and stories about the artist Melody Maker called “The Most Dangerous Musician Alive.”
Created by Tuesday Conner and directed by Phylliss Bailey Brooks, the show features a band of spoken word artists and musicians, along with Gil Scott-Heron’s daughter, Gia Scott-Heron. Special guest artists include Father Amde Hamilton of The Watts Prophets and Victor Orlando of The Gap Band on percussion.
The venue is located at 6539 Santa Monica Boulevard, Los Angeles, CA 90038. Tickets were set to go on sale exclusively through GilScottHeronbluesology.com on Gil’s birthday, April 1, with public sales beginning May 1. The production is presented by A Poets Jazz House & Inner City Cultural Center II.
