Gary P. Nunn performs at Greek Bros. Oyster Bar & Grill in El Campo, Texas, on Saturday, June 27, 2026 at 8:00 PM. The show is at 133 S. Mechanic Street and is scheduled for ages 18 and up.
Nunn has spent more than 40 years performing Texas country music and is known for helping shape the progressive country movement that emerged from Austin in the 1970s. He continues to manage his own career, his record label, and his song publishing companies, and he still plays most weekends at venues across Texas and beyond.
His best-known song, “London Homesick Blues,” includes the “I wanna go home with the Armadillo” chorus and served as the theme for the PBS concert series Austin City Limits for nearly three decades. His album Taking Texas to the Country includes songs such as “Deja Vu,” “Denver,” “Down To Louisiana,” “Mexican Boulevard,” “It’s Not Love,” “One State of Mind,” “Lonesome Lone Star Blues,” “The Likes of Me,” “I’m Not That Kind of Guy,” “A Two-Step Away,” “The Girl Just Loves to Dance,” the title track, and “The Rest of My Life.”
