About This Event
Freestyle Thirst takes place on Thursday, 14 May 2026 at Shoreditch Balls, 333 Old Street, London, EC1V 9LE.
The event is rooted in spontaneous lyricism and welcomes artists from different disciplines to create improvised work together. It defines freestyle here as improvised lyricism, often performed over music, while also exploring the wider range of what freestyle can mean.
MCs, musicians, poets, actors, beatboxers, dancers, and anyone curious or creative are welcome, and all skill levels are embraced. Audience members can also contribute creatively without having to perform. Each session includes original games and challenges, organic cyphers, and open experimentation, with no two events being the same.
All proceeds go toward running the event, a feature-length documentary on freestyle culture, and Acaprov, the improvised musical theatre show connected to the event.
