FREE blues @ Temperance features Andres Roots, the Estonian slide guitarist known as “the Estonian guitar maestro.” The event takes place at Temperance, 33 Bath Street, Leamington Spa, CV31 3AF, on Monday 20 July 2026 at 7:00 PM.
Admission is free, with a collection at the end and donations appreciated. The description notes that Roots is travelling from Estonia and celebrates his 30th anniversary as a performing artist in 2026.
Andres Roots returns to Temperance for the third time in three years. His career has taken him from Morgan Freeman’s Ground Zero Blues Club in Clarksdale, Mississippi to the German parliament at the Bundestag in Berlin. His music has received airplay on five continents, reached number one in Estonia, and drawn comparisons with Mississippi Delta blues, Leo Kottke, and Davy Graham.
Roots’ 2025 CD album Royal Spa Blues, recorded live at Temperance, was named the Independent Blues Broadcasters Association’s Album Pick of the Month. It reached number 2 in the IBBA monthly airplay chart and spent two months in the Top 20 of the Collectif des Radios Blues chart in France. In 2026, 10 tracks from the 50-minute album will be released on 10-inch vinyl, and that release will be available at the Leamington Spa concert.
