First Friday at First "LIVE" – June 2026 – Karla Harris takes place on Friday, June 5, 2026 at 7:00 PM at 125 Ellis St NE in Atlanta, Georgia. Presented by First Friday at First, the 2026 Jazz Series continues with a performance by Karla Harris.
Karla Harris is an acclaimed jazz vocalist, performer, songwriter, and recording artist with more than four decades devoted to jazz. Her performances have reached audiences from Portland to Provence, and she also serves as an artist-in-residence with the Jazz Studies Department at Kennesaw State University, where she teaches Applied Vocal Jazz.
Her fifth album, Merge, was released in July 2025 and debuted on the JazzWeek chart in September. The album reflects her range across swing, Latin, blues, reggae, funk, hip-hop, and ballads. WSIE Radio has called Harris “a powerful singer at ease in any setting, a singer for all seasons who makes any song memorable,” and Clubscene described her as a performer who “takes the stage by storm and doesn’t let go till it’s all over.”
