Felippe Oliveira is a Brazilian guitarist, bassist and composer based between Brazil and the United Kingdom. His work spans contemporary instrumental music, Brazilian jazz and intercultural artistic projects, with a career that includes performance, composition and improvisation across Brazil, Europe, the Middle East and the UK. He is a UK Global Talent Visa holder endorsed by Arts Council England.
Performing as Felippe Oliveira Group, the current line-up features Oscar Ho on bass, Tim Li on piano, Wellington Toniato on drums and Felippe Oliveira on guitar. The repertoire consists entirely of original compositions and draws on influences from Milton Nascimento and Heraldo do Monte, who Felippe studied with directly. His music combines Brazilian instrumental music, including the harmonic and melodic traditions of Minas Gerais, with contemporary jazz language, improvisation and collective interaction.
