Founded in 2013, Emmanuel Ohemeng III & Perpetual Motion is a Philadelphia-based jazz band made up of a pianist, bassist, drummer, trumpeter, saxophonist, and trombonist. The group is known for blending traditional jazz instrumentation with modern sounds such as trap, R&B, and rock.
The band has performed at venues and festivals including MONDO. NYC, the American Visionary Art Museum in Baltimore, Trocadero Theatre, Paris Bistro, Fabrika, the Philadelphia Clef Club of Jazz, Heaven Can Wait NYC, Silvana, the Groove, the Broken Goblet, LAUNCH Music Conference & Festival, the Philadelphia United Jazz Festival, the South Street Spring Festival, the Haverford Music Festival, and the Philly Music Festival. Perpetual Motion also completed a yearlong residency at World Cafe Live Philadelphia in 2023 and released its debut album, EKLIPSE, on August 10, 2024.
