Drifting Roots is an original reggae band based in Central Florida. Founded in San Diego in 2018 by Matthew Mavericks, the project has since been built around Matt’s writing, recording, and production work from his home music studio in Satellite Beach, Florida.
The touring lineup includes Matt Mavericks on guitar and lead vocals, Joey Zizzo on bass and vocals, and Jordenn Garcia on drums. According to the band’s history, Drifting Roots has shared the stage with Collie Buddz, Steel Pulse, Julian Marley, The Movement, Mike Love, and Authority Zero. Their releases include the albums Life is Good (2021) and Meant to Be (2022), along with the five-song EP Find a Way (2024).
