About This Event
Deeper Than Rap is a listening session presented by The Showroom in collaboration with ETP Studios, taking place alongside Bahar Noorizadeh’s exhibition The Debtor’s Portal. The session will be held at The Showroom Gallery, 63 Penfold Street, London NW8 8PQ, on Thursday, 22 October 2026 at 6:30pm.
Using J Hus’ Big Conspiracy as a text for discussion, the session considers Black Sonics as knowledge transmission, alternative pedagogy and a living archive. Attendees will be encouraged to engage critically with the information encoded in musical wavelengths and frequencies, listening with their ears, minds and bodies.
Deeper Than Rap will be led by Dipo Alao-Odeleye, Assistant Engagement Curator, and Ezra Olaoya, founder of ETP Studios.
