Cut Chemist has been recording and performing for nearly 30 years. A turntablist, he began DJing at age 11 and started recording with friends at 14 in a makeshift studio that his father created from an enclosed sun patio. By age 21, he was a founding member of both Jurassic 5 and the Grammy Award-winning Latin funk group Ozomatli.
His work with those groups helped shape his interest in rhythms from around the world while staying rooted in hip hop. His mix-tapes and remixes earned critical acclaim, and his solo releases include The Audience Is Listening, Sound of the Police, Funk Off Mega Mix, and Die Cut. The event also lists support TBA.
