About This Event
Colonel Spanky's Love Ensemble, Bambambinos and Hench Hog takes place at The Tram Depot, 5 Dover Street, Cambridge, CB1 1DY, on Friday 9 October 2026 at 7:00 PM. The event is organized by Cambs Stand Up to Racism and is free to attend.
The lineup features three acts with different approaches to live performance. Colonel Spanky's Love Ensemble formed in 2009 in Cambridge and grew out of shared influences including Riot Jazz and New Orleans brass bands. Their set spans pop, rap, jazz, funk and ska, and the group has performed alongside Tinie Tempah, Basshunter, Laura Mvula and Gentleman's Dub Club.
Bambambinos are a three-piece group described as “girls-to-the-front soft punk” and say their music is for dancers, deviants and deep feelers. Hench Hog is a live electronic and house trio that uses real-time improvisation with drums, keys and trombone, combining instrumental playing with electronic beats.
