About This Event
Cockney & Caribbean: South London Pub Takeover | Brixton Pre-Carnival Soul takes place on Saturday 29 August 2026, with a day party running from 3:00 pm to 9:00 pm at The Prince of Wales Pub on Brixton Road in London, SW9 8HH.
For the first time, Cockney & Caribbean are bringing their London Pub Takeover to Brixton after sold-out events in Central London, Essex and other locations. This South London date is presented as a pre-Carnival warm-up for the bank holiday weekend ahead of Notting Hill Carnival.
The music is vinyl only and includes 80s soul, rare groove, soul classics, 90s R&B, old school hip hop, and a few surprises. The setting is a traditional London pub with space to dance, and the venue is said to be 1–2 minutes from Brixton Underground & Station and next to Brixton Village.
