About This Event
Chopin by Candlelight takes place at St Giles Cathedral on High Street in Edinburgh on Friday, 26 June 2026 at 6:15 pm. The concert features pianist Warren Mailley-Smith performing on a new Steinway Model B Grand Piano in the cathedral’s candlelit setting.
The programme includes a handpicked selection of Chopin piano works:
- Ballade No. 1
- Berceuse
- Raindrop Prelude
- Nocturne in B flat minor
- Scherzo No. 2 in B flat minor
- “Military” Polonaise in A major
- Waltz in E minor (Op. posthumous)
- Waltz in E flat major
Warren Mailley-Smith is a concert pianist who, in 2015, became the first British pianist to perform Chopin’s complete solo piano works from memory in a landmark concert series. His career has included performances at Wigmore Hall and Carnegie Hall, along with appearances for members of the British Royal Family.
