blues @ temperance | Abi Budgen // Andrew Higgins (Blues Fest) takes place at Temperance, 33 Bath Street, Leamington Spa, CV31 3AF, on Saturday, May 9, 2026. Doors open at 2:00 pm.
This concert is part of the South Town blues festival, organised with Southbound. Two local musicians will each perform full sets of around 45 minutes, and they will also perform a couple of songs together for the first time.
Abi Budgen is a guitarist, singer, teacher, and songwriter. Her song Cry appears on Music Minds alongside artists including Andy Fairweather Low, Chris Difford, and Tom Robinson. She has performed at venues and festivals across the UK, including Wilton's Music Hall, the 100 Club, Birmingham Symphony Hall, Tenby Blues Festival, Upton Blues Festival, and Moseley Folk Festival, and has opened for Molly Tuttle, Jerron Paxton, and Dave Swarbrick.
Andrew Higgins is a songwriter who has performed in many bands and now performs solo. His work has received airtime on BBC Introducing and local radio. His songs include Mr Crow, written in memory of a lifelong friend, and Justify, his most-streamed track, which features conversation with his 98-year-old mum and vocals from his life partner.
